hola hola!
looking back on this week it seems like it was suppper long! not sure why but maybe its because a lot happened.
well monday we had noche de hogar with all the renters we are teaching (kathy ivon maritza etc) it was actually pretty great. i found out the husband of the couple they live with is excommunicated. its the second guy ive learned about in the ward but they both assist every week and are trying to be members again. who knows how many more there are.....but it was a super good night and we answered a lot of really great questions and had a great time.
tuesday i completed 13 months in the mission and our zone had interviews with president and a zone meeting after the interviews. i think it was my best interview with him, maybe because i was the first one and he was actually happy and we were joking around and that never happens! he is really inspired and wow i know he is called of God. i already knew that but my testimony of it just grows everytime i talk to him. in the evening we had a great lesson with cookie who owns a cute little cafe and her husband but after they were like you guys are always welcome but they are super catholic. after that lesson i was just super overwhelmed and since i was completing 13 months i started to cry. its just super sad to me that before i know it ill have to leave this place....
wednesday we finally had a lesson with Rudy! he is sooooo pilas i cant even handle it. we invited him to be baptized and he agreed. it was super firm but he said hed pray about it. he is one of those people that has been truly prepared by the Lord. i dont remember if ive talked about him but we just got him as a reference from the zone leaders because he was assisting in their ward but he wanted to assist our ward because its closer to his house so he came to church and thats how we met him.
thursday we had a great lessson with the renters and invited them to be baptized. they said that they would if they recieved their answer from God. so we told them they needed to come to church to see if it was for them.we also taught tomas who is the husband of a less active. hes also super catholic but he is interested and says he is going to come to church this next sunday because he hasnt had time since hes had to work sundays this month with school starting here and everything.
friday nothing much happened that i can remember! sorry!
saturday was great! we had a cita with cookie to make pie de elote and poporopos dulces. for the ward activity the fair of corn. not sure why but it was actually pretty fun and cookie and her husband came with their two daughters for a while and also kathy and ivon came! before the activity the missionary couple in the ward gave a training meeting. the husband is the only one that knows a little spanish and it was super funny because he was supposed to be translating for his wife and at the end she bore her testimony and was almost cryin then shed look to him to translate and hed tell her in english um yeah i already forgot what you said....it was the funniest then the activity went super well. lots of people just brought chips and beans and tamales and tortillas with cheese because they are made with corn....but super yummy non the less
sunday was great because rudy, kathy and ivon came to church and stayed all three hours. rudy after gospel principles class asked us what time the baptism was on the 7th so yeah we are having a baptism this week! we are so excited! he is sooooo pilas!!!! after church in the afternoon we went to visit luis angel the recent convert whos 11 where his mom and dad work in the cafeteria in the prison. i felt like i was walking through alcatraz! it was way sweet and i wanted a tour soo bad. almost like the show prison break if youve seen that. didnt get a tour but did see a couple prisoners sleeping on the floor in their cells. then we had dinner with familia cifuentes and they had 2 of the guys that work with them over to meet us. one of them is named manuel and he is super positive! he had tons of questions and said hed come to church on sunday. things are looking good here in los arcos!
thank you for all your support and i hope you all have a great and safe week!
