hola hola
good news....i have 10 months today! weird!!!!!!
not going to lie this week was one of the hardest weeks because well....me and my comp had lice....thats right piojos en nuestro cabello. que feo.
so monday we had a noche de hogar with familia matias.they invited gustabo our neighbor who is their nephew came and it was just a great time. we get to start giving him the lessons because he has a lot of questions! then we visited maria and her husband a contact in the calle and he told us that they need to ask permission from their pastor for permission to assist church so.....yeah
tuesday we had district meeting and we had to split into two groups to not take too much time! we had ingles class and i realized i really do love teaching. then we went home and before bed i had my comp check my head. she found a bug. i was creeped out but we had no clue what it was so we just went to bed.
wednesday we were doin personal study and my comp was touching her hair and pulled out the same kind of bug we found in my hair that night before. so she checked my head again and found a ton more. we called the nurses and they told us lice are white and we were confused because these were black. so we got other opinions and found we had lice. que alegre. we went to the pharmacy and bought shampoo and lotions to treat our hair and a fine tooth comb....we stayed home all day trying to rid ourselves of the things.
thursday we just put our hair in buns and visited carolina! finally we found the lady- its been like a month! she said she also needs to get permission from her pastor and probs not because they do services fridays in her house...then we ended the day teaching gustabo and it was great! he had a ton of great questions!
friday we helped carmen grade papers and taught her a little bit! multi tasking jaja. then we visited maribela and her family. they all commited to coming to church but mostly alma the sister.
saturday we had interviews with the president! him and his wife both knew we were the two in huehue with lice. the nurses sent up more shampoo to us. so embarrassing haha. the interviews were super good though! he gave me and my comp really great advice. our area is tough but he helped us realize great things and we may not feel like we are doing a lot but we are. we also got to see juana and lesli! they were so worried why we didnt come wednesday. we taught lesson 1 and juanna loved it. we invited them to church and they accepted! whoohoo progress!!!!!!!!
domingo leslie juanna and alma came to church with us! it was just the greatest day! que bendicion. a member helped me get rid of my lice completely by putting some mixture in my hair and sitting for an hour with a bag on my head. hopefully its the end of it but ill keep ya posted....and also we got to go to auras son estuardos call opening party. it was so exciting to watch him open his call. he is going to nicaragua. i think the managua norte mision! and the crazy part. he leaves the 26th of november. one month exactly
so after this whole having lice thing ive decided i will be wearing my hair in a pony or a bun or french braid the rest of my mission. makes me sad but i never want this again. never realized how much of a pain it is and especially if you have long kinda curly hair. i might also be cutting it a bit but not a ton. oh the joys of having to kiss people on the cheek on a regularly basis and contracting lice!
well hope you all have a great week and beware of lice!!!!
