this week was pretty good! we got a great reference from other missionaries and we are starting to visit her. ana maria
we had a great noche de hogar friday with carmen and her boyfriend willy and her brothers pablo y carlos. we brought them to a neighbors house that are members familia lucas. it was a lot better than expected and it helped a ton when carmen willy and pablo came to church on sunday!!!!! they stayed for an hour and i was so impressed with the number of people that greeted them. we have another noche de hogar planned tonight with a different family! i am so excited because they are so amazing. we are currently sending carmen a scripture in the bom everyday to read. she loves it!
also gustavo is doing great! he brings his friend melkin to the lessons now and they both came to church the first time yesterday! they stayed 2 hours and both really liked it. his uncle who is in all the lessonsreally wants to baptize gustavo and its super funny to see how excited he gets but he is actually super helpful. he has the best conversion story and a powerful testimony.
this week with family rodriguez was a little sad. david just wants to come to the activities because he works sundays and his sisters go to a big evangelica church here and they are super scared of their pastor. they have privliges in their church and if they get caught going to another church they will be disiplined. and also they dont believe they can pray for answers to God. me and my comp have been studying that a lot lately because first juana and now family rodriguez wont pray and ask God.
yesterday we had a great experience with that. we had a lesson with a guy we contacted last week and honestly i didnt even want to go. he didnt seem positive but we just went and he let us in and told us we had 15 min but he ended up speaking for 10 min about how he is catholic and is never gonna change his religion because he promised his parents before they died hed never change. on and on about how many churches have visited but he wont change. then i was just getting sad and praying super hard while he was talking. when he finished the spirit spoke through me and i asked if he knew the will of God for him, we already know his parents will and his will but does he know Gods will? we then shared a scripture in matthew and in john and told him he needs to pray. he did a complete 180 and his heart opened. we could see it clicked in his head. he knew what he needed to do. he really does want to do Gods will and he is going to pray he said hes had every religion telling to change but not once has someone asked him to pray and ask God what he wanted. it was just a great experience of how good God is. we really needed that and man i was so happy after that lesson.
today we had thanksgiving dinner as a zone. we had chicken potatoes gravy rolls and pie. guatemalan style we do what we can jajjaja
well i hope you all have a great week and be safe. you are all in my prayers. i know God listens and he DOES answer prayers. we can pray and he will respond.
