hola hola
from quetzaltenango (xela) again! but this time im in an area called los arcos.
tuesday morning i came down with all my stuff to move in. we are in a trio and im with hermana halloway from utah and hermana aguilar from honduras! they are the greatest. halloway is going to be going home in febrero....so im gonna probably cry when she leaves. she is the funniest lady of my life. she is training hermana aguilar so its super fun! my new area is interesting because well its in the heart of xela. the mission office and mission home are in my area. so president is in our ward....thankfully he never comes because he is always traveling to visit other wards. i also got called on saturday night at like 1030 because the ward wanted me to give a talk so i was panicing and praying president wouldnt decide to show up in our ward, thankfully he didnt show up and everything went smoothly. this ward is great and i really love getting to know all the members.
saturday luis angel was baptized. hes 11 and the hermanas have been teaching him for the past couple weeks. he is adorable and super pilas! for his baptism we made tostadas with beans and cheese and had cake. we bought two small cakes but one ended up being coffee.....awkward. we had to have someone run and exchange it before the baptism ended. but all went well and no one had to eat coffee flavored cake.
this week i also got to meet the missionaries in my new zone. i only knew a few people because im one of the oldies in the mission now and i was in huehue for a while so i dont know anyone anymore!
im trying to make my way around here and remember the area so i dont get lost but everything looks the same in this area! pure city.
sunday we also had lunch with a lady michelle who is amazing! she is in the ward and has a mormon . org message... go watch it! and just remember that i met her and her children and i feel like its my claim to fame jaja
