so this week was crazy but super good
tuesday we worked in the temple and showed all the new temple hermanas how to do the tours. well since im new too i didnt really do anything but it was fun seeing hermana gibson! i love that girl.
then we went and saw the pensionistas we are teaching and they made us really fancy nachos and coke but we had to break it to them that we cant drink coke. its one of the most awkward rules. then we went and taught rudy because he needed to still learn a ton. we taught like 3 lessons in one but he is pilas so it was perfect!
wednesday we had district meeting and we made cookies for the zone. but ovens here are the worst so it took a million years. then the secretaries came since they are in our zone and told us that we have to leave for guatemala city at 4 that day so that aguilar could sign her visa papers. it was a little stressful since we were goin to go see rudy but the zone leader said theyd go for us. so we went home and packed and headed to the mission office. only two other elders were also going and one of them was cevallos that i shared an area with in malacas! we got on the bus and drove the 4 hours to guate where a guy from the church was waiting in a van to take us to dinner and to the hotel. guate is soooo different from xela. i feel like im gonna die in the traffic because the drive sooo crazy but we survived! the hotel was cool. it had like 3 bunkbeds and i was hoping i wouldnt get bedbugs but we were good jaja.
thursday we went to the imagration office and waited for another million years. then we went to eat at mac and then to the bus back to xela. we got back to xela around 5 in the afternoon and we were sooooo tired. oh ps we got to see a cool iguana in the backyard of the hotel. i loved that trip.
friday we met lydia. a super cool joven of 19 years and she has been researching the church sola for the past 4 months but when we were in guate she went to the church randomly and the people working at the time called us and put a cita with her. we met with her and she knew soooo much. she wants to be a member but her mom is super catholic and she is scared to tell her that she is even interested in the church. we also had rudys baptism interview and also we met with manuel who is seriously the happiest person ive ever met. he has a huge grin all the time.
saturday RUDY WAS BAPTIZED. lots of members came and he even bore his testimony at the end and it was beautiful! all the elders that ever taught him were there too. super cool
sunday rudy was confirmed and we were told a volcano in antigua guatemala erupted and we could kinda see smoke from here. it was crazy when members showed us the pictures. i also got to talk to a guy named adolfo viagran who lived in fruitland like 15 years ago and assisted the spanish branch there. he worked for dickinsons and wow its such a small world!!!!
well i hope you all have a great week!
